A sincere thankyou to those who attended, to the Bell Hotel for their hospitality, and to the BCPS singers for travelling out from Bridlington. However the attendance was exceptionally poor. This was a fundraising evening with 100% of monies being raised for the Scouts. The Scouts Secretary and singers had worked very hard. There was a problem with late cancellation of a coach from Bridlington, but the local Driffield Scouts members and parents could still have raised a lot more money if they had supported this.

Sunday 3rd July: Flamborough Primary School Gala. A glorious sunny afternoon. As with previous outdoor bookings we found that no seating had been provided for an audience to watch our show, so the audience was simply people passing by, with the majority of people looking at stalls around the field. The difficulty in amplifying the voices of a group of singers outdoors means that they cannot be heard beyond approx 20 metres, and a seated area is essential. An enjoyable day but also a learning curve, and a decision now finalised not to take any new bookings for outdoor events once we have fulfilled this season's committments.
